Ending 2023 on a high

21st December 2023 - publication day for the Bindweed Anthology: Winter Wonderland 2023 which has nestled within its pages one of my favourite little stories: Megalodon. So, despite being on annual leave from the 9-5, I prize my eyes open to see it out in the world.

Imagine my surprise to learn that not only is it floating around free and wild in the universe, but it has won the best fiction prize. Cue warm fuzzys coupled with the prospect of a cosy Christmas. It can't get any better than this...

But no, there's more, an acceptance for another anthology coming next year. Happy dances all round! Writing has been something I've loved from as long as I can remember. And it's only now, approaching the big four oh (I'm trying to forget), that I've decided to give it a real go. Write like nobody's reading, for the love of it, the fun of it and because life is better because of it.

So, I can log off, enjoy Christmas, toast to a great 2023. Oh, but the edits for the novel, they need doing....
