Christmas is done and I am now the lucky owner of MANY more books! This year my husband did bookadvent for me. He's a keeper, right? Each day in December, I unwrapped a new adventure. BEST December ever!
Out of my books, I grew a tree. I see the irony - from whence we came and all that.
Here they are all in a pretty row. I had to edit out the sound as Bad Santa was playing in the background and I recorded this at a very un-PG point in the film. If you know, you know!
So, I've selected a few gems to see me through cold, wet January and I'm ready to snuggle up with them and my new bookish blanket. I'll post my thoughts as I go - keep your eyes peeled for some recommendations to add to those ever expanding TBR piles.
In a world inundated with technology and constant distractions, the simple act of reading remains my number one pursuit. I don't need a charger or a flickering blue light. Books open up doorways to new worlds, perspectives, and emotions and all from the comfort of my sofa. So, give me a shout when it's spring and I might, repeat might, creep out from under my blanket and between the covers.
“Books are a uniquely portable magic.”
― Stephen King, On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft
I hope Christmas has been kind and full of words for you too! What are you reading? Drop me a comment.
